LARGE VICTORIAN PINE STEAMER TRUNK. 90.5cm wide x 55cm high x 50cm deep. Fantastic old steamer trunk made in Belfast in the late 19th century. It has been completely stripped of the old paper interior and canvas outer covering to reveal the beautiful rustic pine and beech bands beneath. It has been very thoroughly cleaned, sanded and fed with pure linseed oil both inside and out. It closes well and the two side catches work well but there is no key. Strong metal carry handles on each end. There are 2 small splits to the metal at the front and some minor splits to the wood at the back near the hinges but these don't effect the function. Underneath there is a layer of metal and 4 small wheels. As this is a very old rustic trunk so in my opinion, it is not suitable for children because of the metal and old nails.
